Water is a precious resource. So is the air we breathe. Unfortunately, the largest waste of water is due to poorly designed and installed Landscape Irrigation systems. A well designed Irrigation System not only conserves water but promotes healthy plant growth. This in turns improves air quality. I don't believe Homeowners and Builders intend to install wasteful systems, it just lack of education. When you are working with different pressures and flow rates, proper hydraulics are essential. Then most yards have several areas that have different watering requirements. This can make bidding out an install an extremely confusing and risky task. This is where I hope to help.
I draw a Lawn Irrigation System and specify it so that a Homeowner, Builder, or Landscape Architect can request bids from local Installers. Before you would bid out building a house or even installing a landscape, you would first decide on a design you like and specify the materials being used. This way you would know what you are getting and you would know that the bidders are bidding apples to apples. In most areas, when you solicit bids for a Landscape Irrigation System, you will get bids that differ from 10 to 50 percent. For instance in my area I could bid a job for $3,600.00 and the Homeowner would get bids as low as $2,100.00 and as high as $4,200.00. I am known for designing, specifying, and installing low maintenance Irrigation Systems that actually are aesthetically pleasing and if used properly conserves water. In most cases Irrigation Designers and Installers have none, poor, or limited installation experience. I firmly believe Homeowners, Builders and even Installers would benefit from my 35 years of installation expertise.
